[Edaily Reporter LEE YUNHWA ] HyundaiMobis(012330)continued its growth momentum in the second quarter, driven by the expansion of high-value-added automotive parts supply and solid performance in its after-sales service (A/S) business, despite an uncertain global business environment.

HyundaiMobis announced on the 24th that it recorded revenue of 16.3247 trillion won, operating profit of 975.2 billion won, and net income of 1.0602 trillion won in the second quarter of this year. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 2.4%, operating profit by 12.1%, and net income by 13.5%. On a cumulative basis for the first half of the year, the company recorded revenue of 31.8852 trillion won and operating profit of 1.7778 trillion won, representing year-over-year growth of 3.9% and 8.0%, respectively.

Improved product mix and company-wide efforts to strengthen profitability drove the improved performance. Although sales in the electrification segment declined slightly due to reduced production volumes at some automaker customers and the cost burden of memory semiconductors persisted, these factors were offset by increased sales to overseas automakers and the expanded supply of high-value-added automotive electronic components. After-sales service (A/S) parts also continued to post solid results, driven by increased global sales and favorable exchange rate effects.

HyundaiMobis invested a cumulative 950.8 billion won in research and development (R&D) during the first half of the year to secure core technologies for future mobility. This represents approximately 44% of the annual investment plan of 2.1631 trillion won. In addition, the company is accelerating its efforts to diversify its global customer base by strengthening its efforts to secure orders for core components from major automakers in North America, Europe, and Asia. In the first half of this year, it secured orders worth $740 million from global customers.

A HyundaiMobis official stated, “Although some orders were delayed in the first half due to factors such as project schedule adjustments resulting from changes in customer strategies and a slowdown in the growth of the electrification market, we plan to improve the quality of our orders by focusing on securing orders for new products and securing our first orders from new customers, while actively expanding opportunities for additional orders.”

Meanwhile, HyundaiMobis continues its efforts to enhance shareholder value in line with its mid- to long-term shareholder return policy. This year’s interim dividend is set at 1,500 won per share, with an ex-dividend date of August 10. Additionally, from May to July of this year, the company repurchased approximately 910,000 shares of its own stock, totaling 500 billion won, and plans to cancel all of these shares in August. HyundaiMobis intends to continue strengthening shareholder returns through increased dividends and the repurchase and cancellation of treasury stock.
