Shin Seung-yong, who rose to fame through TVING’s “Transfer Love 4,” has apologized for the violence controversy that arose during an episode of the WAVVE variety show “Game of Blood X.”

On the 25th, Shin Seung-yong posted on his social media, stating, “I knew I would face criticism even before watching the episode, but seeing it for myself, I realized I really didn’t look good,” adding, “As soon as I watched Episode 5, I called Lee Sang-min, Park Ji-min, and Seo Chul-gu again to apologize.”
He explained the situation, saying, “During filming, I was fixated on the idea that ‘this rule must be followed’ without properly assessing what I should do, which led me to overreact.” He continued, “When I saw Chul-gu hiding a bag of items, I mistakenly assumed he had already taken it, which caused me to use excessive force.”
Regarding Seo Chul-gu’s hand injury in particular, he said, “I didn’t realize the cord was wrapped around his hand,” but added, “Ultimately, injuring Chul-gu was entirely my fault, and the production team bears no responsibility whatsoever. I will cover the cost of his medical treatment.”
Regarding the scene where he got into a physical altercation with Park Ji-min and Lee Sang-min, he apologized, saying, “Watching it again on the broadcast, I felt uncomfortable myself, and it looked too violent,” adding, “Of course, I’m sorry.” As for the incident where he spilled a bundle of cash on the floor, he explained that he had moved hastily to find another item without fully understanding the game’s rules at the time.
He also denied allegations raised by some viewers that he might have been “drunk.” He emphasized, “There was a drinking gathering, but I hardly drank anything, and I did not act while intoxicated,” adding, “That said, it doesn’t change my behavior, and it cannot be justified under any circumstances.”
He also addressed the scene where he shed tears on the show. Shin Seung-yong confessed, “Even from a viewer’s perspective, it was enough to make one wonder, ‘Why is he crying?’” adding, “I cried because of the guilt and self-reproach I felt for hurting a fellow cast member who is active in the entertainment industry.”
Finally, he added, “I’m not writing this because I feel wronged, but because I wanted to explain the situation at the time,” and said, “Please direct your criticism only at me, not at the production team or the other cast members. There won’t be any more uncomfortable scenes in the future.”
In the previously released Episode 5 of “Game of Blood X,” controversy over violence erupted among viewers after Shin Seung-yong injured his hand during a physical altercation with Seo Chul-gu while carrying out the “Day of the Raid” mission, and also displayed rough behavior during a struggle with Park Ji-min over funds. Subsequently, criticism continued online regarding excessive physical contact and the game’s format.
