This marks his first new release in a long time since his first solo full-length album, *Letters with Notes*, in 2023. The album title “Younggest” combines her name “Young” with the suffix “-est,” meaning “superlative,” to convey the meaning of “music that is most quintessentially Young K.” The core of this album lies in her unique, delicate way of expressing the various emotions and moments encountered in everyday life. Young K participated in writing the lyrics and composing all 15 tracks, once again proving her capabilities as a singer-songwriter. She raised fans’ anticipation by gradually revealing the album’s message through various teaser content—including previously released concept films, lyric spoilers, and live album samples—as well as the “Key of the YOUNGEST” promotion. On the 23rd, ahead of the official release, she held a busking performance at Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo Times Square to debut her new songs for the first time. Performing four songs live—including “F World,” “Yonge St.,” “Heading Home,” and the title track “Shut the Door”—he captivated the fans in attendance with his powerful vocals and delicate emotional expression. Young K, who created DAY6’s signature tracks such as “Congratulations,” “You Were Beautiful,” “So We Can Be a Page,” and “Zombie,” is expected to showcase an even deeper emotional depth in this album by translating his personal experiences and perspectives into music. Following the album’s release, Young K will kick off his solo tour, “Youngest,” at the Inspire Arena in Incheon from August 14 to 16. He will then tour major Asian cities—including Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur—to meet with fans around the world.
