◇“I cried a lot after the concert”
Myeong Jae-hyun, leader of the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR (Seong-ho, Liu, Myeong Jae-hyun, Taesan, Lee Han, Un-hak), made this remark on the final day of the Seoul leg of their first world tour, “KNOCK ON Vol. 2,” held on the 19th at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Myeong Jae-hyun confessed that he burst into tears while returning to their hotel with the members after the previous day’s concert. Reflecting on that moment, he said, “On the way back, even before getting into the car, we were having a heated discussion, and we continued to exchange feedback about the concert all the way until we arrived at the hotel.”
He continued, “Through that process, I realized why I was crying,” adding, “The moment the members hugged me, I thought, ‘I’m truly a person who is loved so deeply,’ and that’s when the tears came.”
The “arguments” Myung Jae-hyun referred to were less like emotional disputes and more like a heated exchange of opinions aimed at creating a better performance. This moment showed just how much all the members valued the quality of their performance—so much so that immediately after the show ended, they pointed out each other’s shortcomings and worked together to find ways to improve.
Lee Han also recalled the situation at the time. He said, “After we finished the performance and exchanged feedback, I was taking a shower when Jae-hyun came over and hugged me.” When the fans burst into laughter at that moment, he emphasized, “That situation wasn’t strange at all,” adding, “We’re that kind of close-knit, family-like group.”

The sincerity that the Boy Next Door members pour into their performances was evident throughout the remarks they shared at the end of the show.
Seong-ho said, “I don’t think there’s any other moment when I reflect on myself as much as when I’m preparing for a stage,” adding, “All the members think deeply and carefully about how we can show you an even better and more impressive performance.” He continued, “Even after the show ends, I find myself looking back to see if there were any areas that left something to be desired,” and expressed his hope, “I hope you’ll keep coming to see our shows for a long time, in return for all our hard work.”
Ryu shared, “Ever since our trainee days, the phrase we’ve shared most often with the members has been, ‘Let’s become the kind of idols people want to come see perform.’” He explained, “We think a lot about what we can do to ensure that, while the audience is here, they don’t feel a single moment was wasted and leave with only good memories,” adding, “We try to communicate by putting ourselves in the audience’s shoes.”
Taesan expressed his gratitude, saying, “While preparing for the stage, we discussed a lot with the members about whether ‘One Door’ (the fan club name) would like this part or where the cheers would erupt,” and added, “Thanks to your support and love, which exceeded our expectations, we were able to perform with a bright energy.”
Woonhak further clarified the meaning of a performance as seen by Boy Next Door. “When I sang ‘Call Me’ and saw the audience filled with light sticks, I was overcome with emotion,” he said. “I believe it’s our mission to create a special day in the lives of the fans who come to see us.”
He continued, “I’d be truly proud if you all felt like today was a special day for you,” and concluded by saying, “Let’s keep living our lives to the fullest in our own ways, and meet again soon.”
BOY NEXT DOOR will continue their “Nak On Volume.2” tour at the Busan Sajik Sports Complex Indoor Gymnasium from the 31st of this month through the 2nd of next month.
