[Edaily Reporter Hong Ju-yeon ] #LivsMed Inc. has thrown its hat into the ring in the global surgical robotics market. LivsMed Inc. announced on the 27th that it unveiled its next-generation surgical robot platform, “STARK™,” at the Society for Robotic Surgery 2026 (SRS 2026), held in Florida, U.S., from the 23rd to the 26th (local time).

The Society for Robotic Surgery (SRS) is an international academic society specializing in robotic surgery and serves as a premier annual forum where surgeons and researchers from around the world gather to discuss the latest robotic surgical techniques and technologies. According to LivsMed Inc., Eduardo Parra-Davila, President of the SRS, personally took the podium to discuss STARK. President Parra-Davila commented, “Stark features an innovative design unlike anything we’ve seen before,” adding, “It is engineered to securely stabilize the surgical site through its mechanical structure alone, offering both safety and flexibility.”

Specific specifications for STARK were also unveiled at the conference. Stephen Jarrells, President of LivsMed Inc.’s U.S. subsidiary, introduced STARK as a platform designed to handle a wide range of procedures—from surgeries for benign conditions such as cholecystectomy and hernia repair to highly complex cancer surgeries—while allowing for seamless integration into existing operating rooms without the need for modifications.

The STARK system offers the highest level of flexibility achievable in surgical procedures, including not only the high degree of freedom provided by LivsMed Inc.’s core proprietary technology—the 90° end-tool—but also freedom of movement that allows it to fit easily into even small operating rooms, freedom in robot system setup, freedom in laparoscopic port placement, and the freedom to perform multi-quadrant surgeries spanning both the upper and lower abdomen.

This design ensures that not only patients and surgeons but also nurses and surgical support staff can enjoy “Freedom of Functionality” throughout the entire surgical process. Furthermore, through the world’s first vertically integrated product line—comprising its flagship product, ArtiEssential, along with the ArtiSeal™ vascular sealer, ArtiStapler™ surgical stapler, and LivsCAM™ laparoscopic camera system—the company is expected to provide “Freedom of Price” in hospital settings.

Lee Jeong-ju, CEO of LivsMed Inc., stated, “Through SRS 2026, Stark was able to confirm the market’s keen interest in and the success potential of the Stark robotic system,” adding, “We will secure a firm foothold in the global surgical robotics market in the near future.” CEO Lee further emphasized, “True innovation is only complete when everyone can benefit from it,” adding, “Over the next 20 years, we will write a new chapter in the history of surgical robotics together with medical professionals around the world.”
