[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] LaonPeople Inc.(300120)has posted operating profit and net income in the black for the second quarter, marking the full-scale realization of the benefits of its profitability-focused restructuring. LaonPeople Inc. announced on the 27th that it had disclosed its preliminary second-quarter results (on a non-consolidated basis), recording an operating profit of 300 million won and a net income of 1.07 billion won, successfully turning a profit compared to the same period last year.

This return to profitability comes after about a year, and is seen as evidence that the company’s profitability-focused management strategy has yielded tangible results. In particular, second-quarter net income improved by 3.58 billion won compared to the net loss in the same period last year, signaling a trend toward the normalization of the company’s earnings structure.
Revenue declined slightly due to the divestment of low-margin businesses. Second-quarter revenue stood at 3.53 billion won, and cumulative revenue for the first half of the year was 7.67 billion won—both down from the same periods last year—but the company explained that it has laid the foundation for qualitative growth through improved profitability.
The company stated, “We have entered a trend of improved performance, with both operating profit and net income turning positive,” adding, “We plan to establish a business structure grounded in profitability through a strategy focused on solid fundamentals and to pursue revenue expansion in the second half of the year.”
This improvement in performance is attributed to company-wide efforts to strengthen the business, including streamlining cost and expense structures, restructuring the portfolio to focus on high-margin businesses, and optimizing organizational operations. The company views the second quarter as a turning point for its performance recovery.
New orders also showed an upward trend. New orders in the first half totaled 10 billion won, an increase of approximately 85% compared to 5.4 billion won in the same period last year, and this is expected to support future earnings stability and growth in the second half.
LaonPeople Inc. is pursuing expanded performance in the second half of the year by leveraging generative AI and its global golf business as its two main growth pillars. In the generative AI sector, the company is strengthening its penetration of the public and corporate markets by focusing on products such as the Agent AI solution “HI FENN,” the manufacturing data analytics platform “HI FENN NEXUS,” and the video surveillance solution “OdinAi.” In its global golf business, the company is expanding into overseas markets such as North America, Canada, and Australia, led by its AI golf sensor “VTrack” and training package “SwingEZ.”
LaonPeople Inc. official stated, “Our profitability-focused restructuring has begun to yield tangible results, with both segments turning a profit starting in the second quarter,” adding, “In the second half of the year, we will further strengthen our revenue structure—centered on generative AI and our global golf business—based on our expanded order backlog to maintain this profitable trend.”
