[Edaily Reporter Kim In-kyoung ] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 27th that the “Preparatory Planning Team for the 1st Korea-Central Asia Summit” signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with HyundaiMotor(005380)regarding operational cooperation on vehicle support at Seohee Hall in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
At the signing ceremony, Jeong Ui-hye, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, who also serves as head of the Preparatory Planning Team, and Kim Dong-jo, Executive Vice President of HyundaiMotor’s Global Purchasing Organization (GPO), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
This MOU was established to build a cooperative framework between the two organizations to ensure the successful hosting of the first Korea-Central Asia Summit, which will be held in Korea this September.
Under the agreement, HyundaiMotor is expected to provide a total of 33 vehicles during the summit, contributing to the smooth and safe protocol support for key foreign dignitaries—including heads of state, their spouses, and ministerial-level officials—from the five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Deputy Minister Jeong stated, “This summit will be a meaningful occasion that serves as a new milestone in the development of a future-oriented cooperative relationship between Korea and Central Asia,” adding, “The provision of vehicles by HyundaiMotor, whose technological capabilities and quality are recognized worldwide, will be a major contributing factor to the successful hosting of the summit.”
Executive Vice President Kim remarked, “It is a great honor to provide official vehicles for the first Korea-Central Asia Summit to be held in Korea,” adding, “Based on our experience in providing vehicles for major international events both domestically and abroad, we will actively cooperate to ensure the successful conduct of this summit.”
The Preparatory Planning Committee for the 1st Korea-Central Asia Summit plans to work closely with HyundaiMotor, relevant government agencies, and private companies to meticulously prepare all necessary arrangements to ensure the summit’s success.
