[Edaily Reporter Han Kwangbeom ] SAMSUNG CARD CO., LTD. ( SamsungElectronics(005930)) announced on the 27th that it has partnered with Hana Card to launch the “Samsung Wallet Hana Travelog Check Card” (hereinafter referred to as the “Samsung Wallet Travelog Card”) on Samsung Wallet for international travelers.
The Samsung Wallet Travelog Card is a mobile-exclusive service that combines the payment convenience of Samsung Wallet with the overseas travel-specific benefits of Hana Card’s Travelog.
In addition to benefits such as free currency exchange (100% preferential exchange rate), waived transaction fees at overseas merchants, and waived ATM withdrawal fees abroad, users earn 10% of the transaction amount as “Samsung Wallet Points” when making offline payments overseas using Samsung Wallet. The accumulated points can be used as a prepaid payment method at domestic online and offline merchants via the Samsung Wallet app.
There is no annual fee, and users can apply for the card directly through the Samsung Wallet app, register it immediately, and start using it right away.
SamsungElectronics has also prepared a variety of events to celebrate the card’s launch. From August 1 to December 31, the Samsung Wallet Points earning limit will be increased from 10,000 points to 20,000 points. Additionally, from August 1 to November 30, customers who spend 200,000 won or more at overseas merchants will be entered into a drawing to win prizes such as the Galaxy Fold 8, Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Buds 4, airline tickets, and keycaps.
Chae Won-cheol, Vice President and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at SamsungElectronics’ MX Business Division, said, “Samsung Wallet has continuously enhanced its global usability through features such as international payments and travel services, and with this new card, we’ve added differentiated benefits for Galaxy users.”
He added, “With robust security features based on Samsung INNOX Corporation, we support a secure mobile payment environment, allowing users to use the service with confidence even overseas and enjoy their travels without worry.”
