According to the Royal Thai Government’s cabinet list, Songsak Thongsri has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister. While serving as Deputy Minister of the Interior last year, Deputy Prime Minister Songsak visited LaonPeople Inc.’s Gwacheon headquarters and the Anyang Smart City Integration Center alongside Thai government officials. He has consistently shown interest in AI-based smart city and urban monitoring solution projects, actively discussing related technologies and implementation strategies.
Deputy Prime Minister Songsak, who has maintained a cooperative relationship by playing a leading role in the “AI Surveillance Solution Pilot Project” being promoted by LaonPeople Inc. in Thailand’s Bang Khen Province, is expected to expand his influence over the Thai government’s digital transformation projects as his standing within the cabinet rises further this year.
Previously, the Thai government announced plans for a major urban transformation project centered on Bangkok, aiming to apply cutting-edge AI and digital technologies across all aspects of the city, including transportation, safety, the environment, and public services. With LaonPeople Inc. known to possess AI-based video surveillance, traffic monitoring, and a smart city integration platform—as well as having secured reference projects with local governments—the Thai business is expected to gain momentum.
Apart from government projects, the outlook for supplying AI golf solutions in Thailand is also positive. Interest in golf is high, as evidenced by Thai golfer Jino Tittikun’s recent LPGA victory, and with the expansion of the early and youth golf education market in Thailand, LaonPeople Inc.’s SWINGCRAFT solution—which enables easy indoor training and self-assessment—is attracting attention for school education programs.
