[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Singer Kim Ho-joong, who caused controversy over a hit-and-run accident involving drunk driving, has shared an update on his current situation just one month after being released on parole.

On the 27th, Kim Ho-joong posted a message titled “To My Beloved Aris” on his official fan cafe. “Aris” is the name of Kim Ho-joong’s fanbase.
Kim Ho-joong began by saying, “I don’t know how many days I’ve waited just to convey this one phrase: ‘I miss you so much.’” He continued, “Over the past month since my parole, it felt as though my life was picking up right where it left off two years ago,” adding, “I revisited the things I’d been doing one by one and carefully dusted off memories that had gathered dust.”
Kim Ho-joong wrote, “I’ve thought a lot about how difficult and lonely it must have been for you all while I was away,” adding, “When I think about how you stood by me, believed in me, and cheered me on without wavering even during that long wait, I’m overwhelmed with both gratitude and guilt.”
He also revealed, “I’ve decided to continue working with the existing staff who had to endure hardships due to my mistakes,” confirming his intention to remain with his agency, Art M&C. Art M&C is the new name for Think Entertainment.
Kim Ho-joong explained, “Since these are the people who had to endure a difficult time because of me, I believe that staying with them until the very end is an important responsibility I must fulfill, and that is the way I have lived and will continue to live,” adding, “This is a decision I reached after giving it a great deal of thought.”
Previously, in May 2024, Kim Ho-joong was arrested and indicted on charges—including dangerous driving causing injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes—for driving under the influence on Apgujeong-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, crossing the center line, colliding with a taxi in the opposite lane, fleeing the scene, and instructing his manager to turn himself in on his behalf. He was subsequently sentenced to two years and six months in prison and, after serving his sentence at the Seoul Detention Center, was transferred to Somang Prison in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, last August.
Kim Ho-joong passed the Ministry of Justice’s parole review and was released on parole on the 30th of last month. In a post on his fan cafe upon his release, he stated, “I will not let the feelings of freedom and liberation that come with leaving prison overshadow my sense of responsibility; instead, I will reflect on my actions and serve the remainder of my sentence with a greater sense of responsibility.”
