[Edaily Reporter KYUNG GYEYOUNG ] #Shinsegae Co.,Ltd announced on the 29th that it will open a “Pom Pom Purin Bakery Café” at Sweet Park in its Gangnam branch in Seoul.

Pom Pom Purin is the most popular character, having taken first place in both the global and Korean Daesang categories at this year’s Sanrio Character Awards. To commemorate its 30th anniversary this year, themed cafes were also operated in Japan last March in Ikebukuro and Shibuya, Tokyo, as well as in Umeda, Osaka.

At the Pom Pom Purin Bakery Café—the first of its kind in Korea to be introduced by Shinsegae Co.,Ltd—visitors can find 30th-anniversary merchandise. Approximately 100 different items will be available, including plush toys, keychains, mugs, eco-bags, and stationery.

The café also features baked goods that perfectly capture the essence of Pompompurin, such as Pompompurin night bread, face-shaped custard buns, butt-shaped red bean buns, and beret-shaped chocolate buns. Signature drinks include Chocolate Banana, Caramel Fondant Latte, and Pancake Shake.

The café space will be decorated to reflect the Pom Pom Purin universe, featuring display cases shaped like baskets and bread displays that move along rails.

A Shinsegae Co.,Ltd official stated, “We expect this collaboration between the intellectual property (IP) of a popular character with a global fanbase and Sweet Park’s distinctive dessert offerings to deliver a new kind of enjoyment,” adding, “We will continue to introduce diverse content through collaborations with popular IPs both domestically and internationally.”
