On the 29th, Ko Ji-yong announced his divorce from his wife, Heo Yang-im, on his social media, stating, “I divorced my wife two years ago,” and added, “The reason I didn’t make this public until now was that I wanted to protect my son, Seung-jae, so he could fully come to terms with the situation and grow up in a stable environment.”
He continued, “The divorce was a decision made to respect each other’s paths and fulfill our responsibilities as adults,” explaining, “Seung-jae understands his mom and dad’s new relationship and is doing well and living stably now.”
He also stated, “I will continue to do my best as a father, and although we are no longer married, we support each other and are getting along well,” adding, “I am sharing this information through this post to prevent any misunderstandings that may arise in the future. I ask that you refrain from asking personal questions, and I would appreciate it if you could continue to watch over me with warm support.”
Through his agency, Ko Ji-yong addressed rumors about his health, saying, “Many people have expressed concern over rumors about my health. Due to my own negligence, I experienced a brief liver dysfunction, but I am currently recovering and my condition is improving significantly.” He added, “I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who is sincerely concerned about me and assure you that I am doing my best to take care of my health.”
