[Edaily Reporter Kim Min-jung ] Ownership of the high-end penthouse once owned by the late Taiwanese actress Xu Xi-yuan (Seo Hee-won) has been transferred to her husband, Gu Jun-yeop, and their two minor children.
According to local media outlets such as Taiwan’s Liberty Times on the 29th (all times local), the process of transferring ownership of the penthouse in the luxury residential complex “Taipei Xinyi,” located in Taipei’s Xinyi District and owned by Seo Hee-won during her lifetime, was recently completed.
Ownership has been divided equally among her husband, Gu Jun-yeop, and Seo Hee-won’s two minor children, with each receiving one-third.
(Photo: Screenshot from Gu Jun-yeop’s Instagram)Seo Hee-won purchased the penthouse in 2016 for 362 million New Taiwan dollars (approximately 16.3 billion won). At the time, she reportedly paid a deposit of about 140 million New Taiwan dollars, with the remaining amount financed through a bank loan.
The current market value of this penthouse is estimated at approximately 460 million New Taiwan dollars (about 20.7 billion won).
Since both children are minors, it is reported that her ex-husband and legal guardian, Wang Xiaofei, handled the inheritance procedures in his capacity as their legal representative.
Under Taiwanese law, Seo Hee-won’s estate is expected to be divided equally among her spouse, Koo Jun-yeop, and their two children, with each receiving one-third.
Another residence where her mother currently lives—the National Art Museum—remains under the same ownership, as the mortgage and other liens have yet to be released.
The disposal of assets within the residence is also restricted until the distribution of the estate is finalized.
Seo Hee-won married Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and had two children with him, but the couple divorced in 2021. She remarried Koo Jun-yeop in 2022 but passed away last February due to complications from pneumonia.
