[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #Autocrypt Co., Ltd., a South Korean company specializing in physical AI security, is set to enter the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) market through a strategic partnership with global automotive software company Elektrobit.

According to Autocrypt Co., Ltd. on the 29th, the two companies will establish an integrated business model combining SDV platforms with vehicle cybersecurity and will pursue joint expansion into the Korean market as well as other Asian markets, including China and India.

This collaboration is characterized by being a strategic business partnership that combines platforms and security, going beyond a simple technical alliance. Elektrobit possesses a software portfolio—including a proven SDV platform, automotive operating systems (OS), digital cockpits, and high-performance computing (HPC)—targeted at global automakers, and has supplied software to more than 600 million vehicles worldwide to date. Autocrypt Co., Ltd. possesses vehicle cybersecurity technologies, including compliance with UN R155 and R156, development technologies based on ISO/SAE 21434, PKI, and V2X security.

Autocrypt Co., Ltd. explained, “This collaboration is not merely a technical partnership but a comprehensive and strategic business alliance combining the SDV platform with automotive cybersecurity,” adding, “We plan to provide solutions that integrate the platform and security and support customers in developing SDVs more efficiently through co-selling and joint technical support.”

The two companies plan to maintain their respective contract structures for existing customers and projects, but for new projects, they will jointly explore business opportunities through joint proposals (RFPs) and technical collaboration. This will enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to adopt the platform and security as a single, integrated system rather than evaluating them separately.

Autocrypt Co., Ltd. anticipates potential business opportunities worth approximately 122 billion won through this collaboration. This figure combines a stable annual revenue base of about 8 billion won secured through exclusive business rights in Korea, new business opportunities of about 22 billion won annually through co-selling, and additional business opportunities of about 92 billion won annually from expanding its portfolio offerings to existing customers.

Autocrypt Co., Ltd. emphasized that this collaboration is an extension of its “security by design” strategy, rather than a shift toward a platform business.

A company official stated, “In the SDV era, security alone cannot meet customer needs; security must be naturally embedded within the platform from the early stages of vehicle software development,” adding, “We are not seeking to transform into a platform company, but are evolving into a key partner that designs and implements security within the platform ecosystem.”

The spokesperson added, “We are expanding the role of our sales organization beyond simply selling individual security products to collaborating with customers on the design of their SDV architectures, and our technical team is also focusing on deepening its understanding of platform technologies to provide more comprehensive integrated solutions.”
