Accelerating “Value-Up” Efforts… Expanding Dividends Following Treasury Stock Cancellation

LG Uplus announced on the 29th that it held a board of directors meeting and approved the acquisition of 90 billion won worth of treasury stock. The acquired shares are expected to be actively utilized to enhance shareholder value through measures such as cancellation.

This decision is an extension of the corporate value enhancement plan (Value-Up Plan) announced in November 2024. Since announcing its mid- to long-term financial targets and shareholder return policy at that time, LG Uplus has been consistently fulfilling its commitments. Following the cancellation of treasury stock worth approximately 100 billion won (based on book value) last August, the company also canceled all 80 billion won worth of additional treasury stock it had purchased this past May.

The company is also increasing cash dividends for shareholders. LG Uplus has decided to pay an interim dividend of 270 won per share this year, an increase of about 8% compared to the previous year. The record date for the interim dividend is August 13, and the dividend is scheduled to be paid on August 28.

1.3 Trillion Won Invested in Phase 2 of Paju AIDC… Harnessing ‘One LG Corp.’ Synergies

On the same day, LG Uplus also announced a large-scale investment plan to strengthen its future growth engines. The company decided to make an additional investment of approximately 1.3 trillion won to construct Phase 2 of the AI Data Center (AIDC) in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

The AIDC currently under construction by LG Uplus in Paju is a 200 MW (megawatt) facility, making it the largest in the Seoul metropolitan area. In particular, it is regarded as a core hub of the “One LG” AI infrastructure, which brings together LGELECTRONICS’ liquid cooling solutions, LG Energy Solution’s high-performance UPS (uninterruptible power supply) batteries, and LG Uplus’s 27 years of data center operational expertise.

Data Center Building 1, scheduled for completion in June of next year, has already been fully leased, demonstrating explosive market demand. LG Uplus plans to use this investment to construct Data Center Buildings 2 and 3 and invest in related facilities, while also beginning the design of Data Center Building 4, with the strategy of firmly cementing its leadership in the AI infrastructure market.
