Episode 353 of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” airing on the 29th, will feature Jeon Geun-bae and Jeong Sang-yong, the zookeepers who care for Daegu’s superstar white lion siblings; Cho Ji-hoon, the Lotte Giants cheerleading squad leader who has guarded Sajik Stadium for 20 years; Park Ji-sung, the eternal captain of South Korean soccer; and singer Kim Jong-kook, who has swept both the Grand Prize at the Korean Music Awards and the Grand Prize at the Entertainment Awards.
Park Ji-sung, the eternal captain of South Korean soccer and affectionately known as “Haebeoji,” returns to “You Quiz” for the first time in five years. Yoo Jae-suk couldn’t hide his delight upon seeing Park Ji-sung, who appeared even more dashing than before, remarking, “You’ve really grown into a handsome man.” Park Ji-sung, who served as a commentator at the CONCACAF World Cup, shares behind-the-scenes stories—including how he accurately predicted Spain as the champion—and opens up about his honest feelings regarding the South Korean national team, which was eliminated in the Round of 32. He plans to share his honest thoughts on the national team’s game strategy at the time, stating, “I just couldn’t understand it,” along with the true feelings behind his angry expression immediately after the match against South Africa. He will also explain why the national team—considered the strongest squad in history—failed to live up to expectations, discuss the competitiveness of Japanese soccer, which has grown based on a 100-year long-term plan, and share his convictions on the direction Korean soccer should take.
Park Ji-sung, who recently took on the role of chairman of the K-Football Innovation Committee under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will also candidly discuss the sense of responsibility and concerns he feels about taking a direct role in preparing for the future of Korean soccer. He is also set to share his candid thoughts on the qualities a national team coach should possess, as well as his views on the speculation surrounding candidates for the next Korea Football Association (KFA) presidency. In particular, he draws laughter by responding that it “would be tough” regarding Kim Jong-kook—who was “recommended” (?) by Yoo Jae-suk as a candidate for KFA president—and the show adds to the fun with an impromptu meeting between the two on set. Additionally, the broadcast will feature behind-the-scenes stories from the reunion of Manchester United (Man Utd) legends who gathered again in Seoul, including anecdotes from their appearance in the Icon Match, the process of training for a full year to play just 55 minutes, and the knee injury that forced him to push his body to the limit—even to the point of bringing forward his retirement.
Meanwhile, following South Korea’s early elimination from the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially launched the “K-Soccer Innovation Committee” to devise a plan for the renewal of Korean soccer. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young and Park Ji-sung serve as co-chairs, and the committee includes soccer figures such as commentators Lee Young-pyo and Park Joo-ho, as well as sports industry figures and experts including Yoo Seung-min, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee; Kim Seung-hee, Executive Director of the Korea Football Association; Cho Yeon-sang, Secretary General of the Korea Professional Football League; attorney Yoo Young-geun; and Professor Kim Dae-hee.
