[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Premium pet food specialist OSP Co., Ltd(368970)announced on the 30th that it has shipped its first export shipment to Uzbekistan as it sets out to expand into the Central Asian market.

This export follows the company’s entry into Kazakhstan last year and is part of its expansion into the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. The company plans to strengthen its penetration of the Central Asian market using Uzbekistan as a base.

Uzbekistan is regarded as the country with the greatest growth potential in the Central Asian pet food market. Driven by recent sustained economic growth, urbanization, and the expansion of the middle class, the number of households keeping dogs and cats has been steadily increasing, particularly in the capital, Tashkent. As the culture of viewing pets as family members spreads, demand for premium imported pet food that offers both functionality and safety is growing rapidly. According to market research firms, the local pet food market is projected to record high growth of approximately 6–7% annually from 2025 to 2031.

In response to the growing number of pet-owning households and the expanding demand for premium imported pet food, OSP Co., Ltd plans to expand its collaboration with local distribution partners, focusing on organic and functional products, and to pursue brand marketing initiatives.

A company official stated, “Uzbekistan is a key Shinhung market in Central Asia with significant growth potential for premium and functional pet food,” adding, “We will strengthen the competitiveness of K-pet food through locally tailored strategies and continue to drive global revenue growth.”
