[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] The women’s professional volleyball team, the SOOP(067160) Supers, has confirmed Gwangju-Jeonnam Integrated Special City as its home base and is gearing up in earnest for its inaugural season.

SOOP announced on the 30th that it has confirmed the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City as the home base for the women’s professional volleyball team, SOOP Supers, and unveiled an official emblem that embodies the team’s identity and vision.

SOOP Supers plans to expand its engagement with local fans based in the Gwangju-Jeonnam Integrated Special City and establish itself as a team that grows alongside the local community.

The team intends to broaden its fan base centered around its home city, continue various community outreach activities, and contribute to revitalizing the local sports culture.

The newly unveiled official emblem encapsulates SOOP’s brand philosophy and the volleyball team’s identity in a single symbol. The SOOP infinity symbol at the top represents the brand philosophy of connection and expansion pursued by the company. The volleyball at the bottom symbolizes the team’s commitment to operations and new challenges through sports. The “SOOPers” wordmark in the center is modeled after a volleyball court and net. It conveys the meaning of uniting the company, the team, and the fans through volleyball. By arranging these three elements vertically, the design also expresses the future vision of SOOP’s brand philosophy continuously expanding through volleyball.

Min Hyung-bae, Mayor of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City, stated, “The confirmation of the SOOP Volleyball Team’s home base in the Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City is a meaningful event that opens a new chapter in local sports alongside the launch of the Unified Special City,” adding, “I look forward to the SOOP Volleyball Team establishing itself as a club that citizens cheer for and enjoy together, and one that grows alongside the region.”

He continued, “By uniting the cultural, athletic, and content capabilities of Jeonnam and Gwangju, we can generate new momentum for growth,” and added, “I ask for the citizens’ continued interest and support so that the SOOP Volleyball Team can grow into a leading professional sports team that energizes citizens’ lives and helps shape the region’s future together.”

Lee Byung-ho, General Manager of the SOOP Supers, said, “The Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City is the most important foundation for the SOOP Supers to grow alongside our fans,” adding, “We will continue various activities to establish ourselves as a beloved team through close communication with the region, and we will strive to bring new vitality to the region through volleyball.”

SOOP Supers received approval to join the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) last June and finalized the appointment of Head Coach Kim Se-jin and the roster. Since then, they have signed foreign player Odryana Fitzmorris and Asian quota player Iz Xue. Recently, they have continued to strengthen their roster by signing free agents Jeon Sae-yan and Song Eun-chae as they prepare for their inaugural season.
