This industry-academia collaboration project was organized as part of the company’s industry-academia partnership initiatives to provide students interested in pharmaceutical marketing with the opportunity to experience the process of developing marketing strategies actually used in the pharmaceutical industry.
BCWORLDPHARM Co., Ltd. presented the students with three topics: △ a marketing strategy for orally disintegrating tablets focused on medication adherence; △ anaphylaxis response using self-administered epinephrine and recommendations for related national policies; and △ the development of a marketing strategy for a new topical hemostatic agent scheduled for launch.
The project, which lasted about a month, began with a kickoff meeting and proceeded through team-based assignments, interim presentations, and a final presentation. Students from the PPL program formed teams to conduct market research and literature reviews, while BCWORLDPHARM Co., Ltd. provided guidance and feedback throughout the project to help the students refine their strategies.
During the final presentation session, a variety of strategies were presented based on a thorough analysis of the products’ and diseases’ characteristics. These included: △ ways to improve the convenience of taking orally disintegrating tablets to aid in disease management; △ measures to improve access to medications for rapid response to anaphylaxis emergencies; and △ a differentiated communication strategy to ensure the successful market launch of the topical hemostatic agent—all of which offered concrete solutions to the challenges faced by each product.
BCWORLDPHARM Co., Ltd. comprehensively evaluated each team’s proposals based on market understanding, the validity of their strategic approaches, creativity, and feasibility.
A representative of BCWORLDPHARM Co., Ltd. stated, “This project provided students with a concrete understanding of the field and strategic insights, while offering the company a fresh perspective,” adding, “We feel proud to have met colleagues with whom we can explore the future of pharmaceutical marketing together, and we look forward to seeing them in the field again someday.”
