[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] “Cylindrical battery shipments are increasing quarter by quarter, driven by a recovery in European EV demand and expanding sales of long-range models in Asia. Clients are also planning to expand production to meet this growing demand. The 46 Series, which began mass production in the second half of last year, is also expected to continue its growth momentum through the second half of this year and into next year. In North America, operations at a joint venture plant—which had temporarily suspended some production—will resume in the third quarter, with plans to gradually increase production in line with market and customer demand. In Europe, capacity is expected to expand, primarily for mid-to-low-priced products such as high-voltage mid-nickel and LFP batteries, leading to improved capacity utilization rates.”
