[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” surpassed 1 million viewers on its second day in theaters. This is the fastest pace among films released this year.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 30th, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (Spider-Man 4) recorded a cumulative audience of 1,000,104 as of 2:25 p.m. This pace is similar to that of “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) and “The Outlaws 4” (2024), which both surpassed 1 million viewers on their second day of release.
This is faster than director Na Hong-jin’s recently released *Hope*, which reached 1 million viewers on its third day.
“Spider-Man 4” also set a new record for the best opening among films released this year. On the day of its release, the 29th, it drew 688,381 viewers, overtaking “Hope” to claim the No. 1 spot at the box office. Its cumulative attendance stands at 689,635.
The “Tom-Spidey” (Spider-Man starring Tom Holland) series has consistently demonstrated its formidable box office appeal in South Korea as well. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” drew 7.25 million viewers, “Spider-Man: Far From Home” drew 8.02 million, and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” drew 7.55 million, bringing the cumulative total to over 22 million moviegoers.
“Spider-Man 4” is an action blockbuster in which Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland)—who has been forgotten by everyone following the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”—is plunged into even deeper turmoil by the appearance of a mysterious enemy who remembers his true identity and by gaining uncontrollable powers due to a DNA mutation, as he faces a new threat to protect those he loves.
