[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Yoo Jae-suk, known as a “model taxpayer,” is drawing attention as scenes of him paying his taxes are featured.
On the 1st, the YouTube channel “Tteun Tteun” uploaded a video titled “Four Brothers’ ‘No-Nav’ National Highway Road Trip: Destinations Chosen by a Spinning Wheel, Routes Left to the Map Book | Punghyang Middle School EP.1.” In this video, Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Sung-min, Ji Seok-jin, and Yang Se-chan set out on a domestic road trip. Before starting the trip, Yoo Jae-suk said, “We have to stop by three banks,” and the members protested, asking, “Can’t we just go to one bank? Why do we have to go to three?” Yoo Jae-suk replied, “We each have our own primary bank.” He then confessed, “I have something to say—I’ll go pay my taxes after withdrawing money from the ATM.” In response to Yoo Jae-suk’s remark, Ji Seok-jin grumbled, “Why are you paying taxes right now?” and Lee Sung-min asked, “Haven’t you paid them yet?” Yoo Jae-suk replied, “I’ve been busy with continuous filming, so I couldn’t go to the bank,” and Lee Sung-min said, “I did mine yesterday.” Ji Seok-jin suggested, “Do it later,” but Yoo Jae-suk replied, “There’s no such thing as ‘later.’ Taxes must be paid on time,” demonstrating the attitude of a model taxpayer. Yoo Jae-suk then went to a nearby bank to pay his taxes. The scene of him paying his taxes during the broadcast added a new element of entertainment. Yoo Jae-suk previously made headlines when it was revealed that, despite undergoing an intensive tax audit in 2024, no irregularities—such as errors or omissions in his tax returns—were found. Later, tax accountant Yoon Na-gyeom explained on the YouTube channel “Tax Savings TV,” “Assuming he earned 10 billion won, he would pay about 2.7 billion won if filing based on book records, but under Yoo Jae-suk’s estimated filing method, he must pay 4.1 billion won,” adding, “That amounts to paying a whopping 1.4 billion won more.” She continued, “Yoo Jae-suk’s standard expense ratio is 8.8%. After deducting that, his actual taxable income is 9.12 billion won. He pays 4.1 billion won in taxes,” adding, “Some people pay 2.7 billion won, while others pay 4.1 billion won. The difference is as much as 1.4 billion won.”
