The episode of KBS2’s “Immortal Songs” airing on the 1st is themed “K-Pop Time Machine Special” and features a lineup ranging from Park Mi-kyung and Shin Hyo-beom to Park Nam-jung, Hyun Jin-young, Noise, R.ef, So Chan-hwi, Glass Box, Hong Kyung-min, Chae Yeon, Geobugi, and Moon Se-yoon.
On the show, Shin Hyo-beom shared memories from the height of his career. When Lee Chan-won expressed surprise, saying, “I’ve heard that back then, they even provided a helicopter and a lifeboat for Senior Shin Hyo-beom,” Shin Hyo-beom revealed, “They said it was hard for me to make it to the recording on time after finishing schedules in the provinces, so they sent a helicopter.” At this point, led by Shin Hyo-beom, Park Mi-kyung, Noise, R.ef, and Hyun Jin-young all shared their own stories of traveling by helicopter, bringing home the extraordinary prestige of the 1990s’ top stars. However, Park Nam-jeong—who, surprisingly, had never ridden in a helicopter—made a jealous-sounding joke, saying, “It seems the appearance fees for those who traveled by helicopter were a bit lower. I’m selective about the events I attend, so I never had a reason to take a helicopter,” he countered.
Park Mi-kyung and Shin Hyo-beom chose Ailee’s “I’ll Show You.” Explaining their choice, they said, “We see Ailee as the junior artist who is carrying on the legacy of divas in the music industry from our generation.” Shin Hyo-beom, who hinted, “I hit some high notes today,” expressed his determination, saying, “I’ll sing with all my passion and do my absolute best—so much so that the ‘Masterpiece’ judging panel will want to give a standing ovation.”
