AJ Networks Co.,Ltd. announced on the 3rd that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pastoro Robotics to expand its logistics robotics business. The signing ceremony was held at the AJ Building, attended by key executives from both companies, including Choi Ji-young, Vice President of AJ Networks Co.,Ltd., and Hong Jong-wook, CEO of Pastoro Robotics, who pledged cooperation based on mutual trust. This agreement was established to expand the logistics robotics business and accelerate market growth by combining the two companies’ capabilities in robotics solutions with their expertise in rental and service operations. Currently, in logistics and industrial settings, there is a growing need to introduce robots to address labor shortages and improve productivity; however, large-scale initial capital expenditures (CAPEX) and complex system integration have served as barriers to entry for companies. As a result, RaaS—which reduces the initial cost burden by allowing companies to subscribe to robots rather than purchasing them outright—has garnered attention in the market as an alternative. AJ Networks Co.,Ltd. and Pastorobotics plan to introduce an advanced model that reflects this market demand while addressing the limitations of existing RaaS offerings. Their vision is to offer RaaS as a “comprehensive service-based rental package” that goes beyond simple hardware rental by bundling system integration (SI) to optimize and integrate robots into existing work environments, ongoing maintenance (A/S), and customized financing structures. This will enable client companies to adopt automation solutions that can be deployed immediately on-site while minimizing technical and financial risks. With this partnership, AJ Networks Co.,Ltd. is expected to accelerate the expansion of its robotics business even further. AJ Networks Co.,Ltd. is a leading domestic B2B rental company providing services across various fields, including IT solutions, robots, industrial equipment, and logistics pallets. Recently, the company has been strengthening its robot rental and maintenance services—such as for serving robots and robotic arms—and is cultivating its robotics business as a core new growth engine. Leveraging its nationwide service network and strong corporate customer base, the company plans to identify new robot service customers, design financial structures for RaaS operations, and manage receivables. Going forward, the two companies intend to organically integrate Pastorobotics’ logistics system integration (SI) capabilities with AJ Networks Co.,Ltd.’s nationwide rental and service organization to establish a collaborative framework covering the entire process—from robot implementation planning to system integration, operation, and post-sales support. At the same time, they plan to actively engage in joint marketing and sales activities to tap into new markets. Choi Ji-young, Executive Vice President of AJ Networks Co.,Ltd. (Head of the B&T Division), stated, “The core of this partnership is to dramatically improve customer accessibility to on-site robot adoption by shifting the burden of large-scale CAPEX (initial capital expenditure)—which is the biggest concern for companies when adopting logistics automation—to a flexible OPEX (operating expense) structure,” adding “Going beyond simple hardware-centric robot rentals, we will lead the market by providing optimal comprehensive robot services through ‘true RaaS’—which combines RoboRobo Co., Ltd.’s on-site, customized fulfillment optimization and logistics system integration capabilities with AJ Networks Co.,Ltd.’s nationwide maintenance infrastructure,” she added.
