NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES maintained its “Buy” rating on HYOSUNG TNC today and raised its target price by 9.3% from 430,000 won to 470,000 won.
Choi Young-gwang, an analyst at NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES, stated, “We have raised our 2027 operating profit forecast by 12.3% from the previous estimate to reflect stronger-than-expected spandex prices, spreads, and overall market conditions,” adding, “We expect the robust supply-demand balance for spandex to continue into 2027.”
HYOSUNG TNC’s second-quarter operating profit reached 188.8 billion won, an 118.9% increase from the previous quarter, exceeding market expectations. Operating profit in the textiles division rose 124.5% quarter-over-quarter to 165.2 billion won, while operating profit in the trade and other divisions also increased by 87.3% to 23.6 billion won.
Analyst Choi predicted, “With no planned spandex capacity expansions in 2026 and considering the expected increase in demand in 2027, utilization rates will rise, leading to a continued robust supply-demand balance.” He added, “Since inventories at Chonbang fabric manufacturers are at historic lows, the impact of the off-season in the second half of the year is expected to be milder than in previous years.”
