[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Choi Young-in, former head of SBS’s Variety Division, has been appointed as the new CEO of the Entertainment Business Division at SM Culture & Content Co., Ltd. (SM C&C).
SM C&C stated on the 3rd, “Choi Young-in, CEO of the Entertainment Business Division, will oversee the division moving forward and is particularly expected to drive branding and business advancement for the digital studio business.” The company added, “Building on the content production capabilities cultivated over many years, he is expected to establish the identity of SM C&C’s digital studio and strengthen the division’s competitive edge by discovering differentiated original content and IP.” Choi Young-in, Head of the Entertainment Business Division, is a graduate of the Department of East Asian History at Seoul National University. Over the course of 36 years, he has led content planning, production, and organizational management at EBS and SBS. He previously served as Head of the Variety Division at SBS and later held positions such as CEO of the Production Division at Studio Prism, where he oversaw content production and business diversification. His representative works include *Ambitious*, *Healing Camp*, *Fantastic Duo*, and *My Ugly Duckling*. He has received numerous awards, including the Best TV Variety Program Award at the 37th Baeksang Arts Awards, the Best TV Variety Program Award at the Korea Broadcast Producers Awards, the Best Entertainment TV Program Award at the Korea Broadcasting Awards, and the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the Korea Content Awards. Meanwhile, SM C&C operates in the fields of comprehensive advertising production, entertainment, and travel management services. Its entertainment roster includes Kang Ho-dong, Jeon Hyun-moo, Seo Jang-hoon, Jang Do-yeon, Moon Se-yoon, and Hwang Jae-kyun.
