[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] SOOP(067160)is expanding its support for motion capture studios for virtual streamers. The company plans to lower the barrier to entry for virtual content production—which typically requires expensive equipment and a professional filming environment—to help streamers create content.

SOOP announced on the 3rd that, starting this September, it will expand its optical motion capture studio rental program from the current single location to a total of four locations in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.

Virtual content requires professional motion capture equipment and filming environments to achieve natural movements of 3D avatars. However, the high costs of equipment and studio rentals have posed practical constraints for individual streamers looking to produce high-quality content.

To lower these barriers to entry, SOOP has been operating an optical motion capture studio rental program since 2024.

This year, DIO Corporation is expanding the supported regions and operational framework so that streamers can use the studio of their choice based on their location and schedule. DIO Corporation expects this to improve accessibility and convenience.

Filming support will also be strengthened. SOOP will provide optical motion capture suits and filming equipment, along with professional operators to ensure a smooth shoot. Depending on the need, the company also plans to provide the raw filming data so that streamers can utilize it for various future content productions.

Applications for motion capture studio support are accepted from the 1st to the 10th of each month. The program is open to content scheduled for production in the following month, as of the application date. Any streamer who owns an avatar in a 3D humanoid format—such as VRM or FBX—is eligible to apply.

Applicants must submit a proposal outlining the content they intend to produce. SOOP will select recipients through an internal review process.

SOOP has supported the growth of virtual streamers through various programs such as “Welcome Virtual” and “Virtual Makeover.” SOOP plans to continue strengthening its production infrastructure and content support to create an environment where virtual streamers can freely produce content and grow.
