[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] COWINTECH Co., Ltd(282880)announced on the 3rd that it has signed a 20 billion won contract to supply autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to a major global battery company. Under this contract, the company will supply AMRs to battery production facilities in Europe and North America, and is expected to accelerate the expansion of its robotics business.

This contract, covering the European and North American production bases of the major global battery manufacturer, will run through September 2027. The AMRs supplied by COWINTECH Co., Ltd will handle logistics transportation between processes—from electrode manufacturing to assembly and shipment—on production lines for energy storage system (ESS) batteries.
With the recent increase in demand for artificial intelligence (AI) computing power driving expanded investment in data centers and power infrastructure, the demand for automation in battery and ESS production facilities is also rising. Consequently, there is a growing trend toward adopting AMRs, which can automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
Including this contract, COWINTECH Co., Ltd has secured robot automation orders worth approximately 90 billion won in the rechargeable battery and ESS sectors so far this year. The company is also expanding its share of the robotics business by broadening its supply scope to advanced manufacturing sectors such as the automotive and semiconductor industries.
Based on its in-house design and manufacturing technologies, COWINTECH Co., Ltd supplies AMRs that are customized to specific site conditions, including equipment integration, payload capacity, and handling precision. The company is also expanding its intelligent robot platform business by integrating autonomous driving, digital twins, and large language models (LLMs).
A COWINTECH Co., Ltd official stated, “This contract demonstrates the growing demand for AMR-based automation in global battery manufacturing facilities,” adding, “We plan to expand our robot supply beyond batteries into advanced manufacturing sectors such as energy, semiconductors, and mobility.”
