[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] The CGV Pangyo branch will close on the 19th. CGV Logo CGV announced on the 3rd via its official website, “CGV Pangyo will cease operations with the 19th as its final screening day.” A CGV official told Edaily that day that the decision was “due to the expiration of the lease agreement.” CGV stated, “We sincerely thank all our customers who have supported and loved CGV Pangyo over the years,” and provided information on nearby CGV locations, including the Seohyeon, Shinsegae Gyeonggi, Ori, and Yatap branches. The Shinsegae Gyeonggi branch features 4DX and Tempur Cinema theaters, while the Ori branch has a SCREENX theater. The Yatap branch, scheduled to open next month, will also welcome audiences with a SCREENX theater. CGV Pangyo opened in August 2015 and featured special theaters such as IMAX, 4DX, and SCREENX. Although it was the only theater in Seongnam City with an IMAX screen, it is closing its doors after 11 years.
