[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Boy band JO1 has canceled its concert scheduled for the 26th and 27th of next month at the Ticketlink Live Arena (Handball Stadium) in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This decision comes in the wake of the prolonged “Jamsil Vote-Counting Center Blockade Protest,” which was staged to condemn the shortage of ballots during the June 3 local elections.

Their agency, Rapone Entertainment, announced this decision in a notice posted on its official website on the 3rd. Ticket sales for the concert had not yet begun.
The agency explained, “After comprehensively reviewing the situation around the venue and various operational requirements, we determined that it would be difficult to proceed with the scheduled concert as planned.” It added, “We sincerely apologize to all the fans who have been eagerly awaiting this concert.”
JO1 is the debut group from the Japanese version of CJ ENM’s music channel Mnet’s idol audition program “Produce 101.” Since their debut in 2020, they have been active in both South Korea and Japan.
Protests condemning the shortage of ballots for the local elections are continuing in the Olympic Park area. As a result, the Ticketlink Live Arena—which was being used as a vote-counting center—has been cordoned off, causing disruptions to the singers’ concert schedules.
Earlier, singer Park Seo-jin canceled a concert scheduled for last month at Ticketlink Live Arena due to the prolonged impact of the “polling station blockade protests.” TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho and the band N.Flying went ahead with their concerts after moving the venue to the Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
