[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] LabGenomics ( LabGenomics. Co., Ltd.(084650)), a company specializing in genomic molecular diagnostics, announced on the 4th that it is expanding its U.S. sales organization and moving to establish a nationwide sales network.
Last month, LabGenomics. Co., Ltd. held a “National Sales Meeting” at a laboratory in New Jersey, attended by sales personnel from across the United States. This event marked the first company-wide sales meeting held since the recent consolidation of two U.S. Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-certified laboratories under the single “LabGenomics” brand. At the National Sales Meeting held at the laboratory in New Jersey, U.S., Stephen E. Cook (center in photo), Head of U.S. Operations, shared the company’s mid- to long-term vision and growth strategies with the LabGenomics. Co., Ltd. team from the Korean headquarters. (Photo: LabGenomics. Co., Ltd.) Held under the theme “Stronger Together,” the event focused on sharing the company’s mid- to long-term business direction, as well as sales case studies and best practices in key testing areas, including cancer diagnostics, digital pathology-based testing, dermatopathology, and “Lumipulse,” a blood-based diagnostic test for Alzheimer’s disease. In particular, the company explained that sales personnel operating in 27 U.S. states gathered in one place to strengthen the collaborative framework across the integrated organization.
The company also doubled the size of its sales organization compared to its previous structure. Additionally, it appointed Tim Murray—who has over 20 years of experience in the U.S. diagnostic testing sales sector—as Executive Vice President of Sales to reorganize the sales structure by region and specialty.
Vice President Tim Murray conducted research on blood cancers and bone marrow transplants at Emory University School of Medicine and is an expert who has led sales in the U.S. diagnostic testing market for over 20 years. At medium- to large-sized anatomical pathology and women’s health genomic testing institutions, he turned a declining test volume in his first year on the job into 21% growth. In the early days of the non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) market, he led the expansion into new markets while overseeing sales for molecular diagnostics CLIA laboratories.
Building on this track record, LabGenomics. Co., Ltd. plans to expand its general diagnostic and cancer diagnostic testing sales—which were previously limited to certain regions—across the entire United States, and to pursue cross-selling and the expansion of test menus targeting large hospitals and clinics.
The effects of the U.S. business restructuring are also becoming apparent. The company explained that costs are decreasing as it streamlines redundant resources and improves operational efficiency, while revenue and profitability are improving alongside the expansion of its sales organization.
LabGenomics. Co., Ltd. secured a local testing infrastructure in the U.S. by successively acquiring QDx, a pathology and molecular diagnostics laboratory, in 2023, and IMD, a laboratory specializing in cancer diagnostics, in 2024. Subsequently, the company integrated the two entities under the single “LabGenomics” brand and unified sales, testing operations, and overall management into a single system.
LabGenomics. Co., Ltd. stated, “We recently completed the integration of the two CLIA labs under a single brand and operational framework, and the effects of this are already evident in the rebound of U.S. business revenue.” The official added, “In the second half of the year, we expect to see full-scale results from Team Murray’s sales strategy and the sales team that joined earlier this year, so the trend of revenue growth and improved profitability in our U.S. business is expected to become even more pronounced.”
