According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 14th, “The Martian” had recorded 437,076 advance tickets as of 8:31 a.m. Its advance ticket sales rate stands at 42.1%.
With the main cast of *The Odyssey*—including director Christopher Nolan and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, as well as lead actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theron—drawing attention with their visit to Korea, all eyes are on whether the film will surpass 500,000 advance tickets sold.
“Odyssey” is the latest film from director Christopher Nolan, whose previous works—including “Interstellar,” “Dunkirk,” “Tenet,” and “Oppenheimer”—have drawn over 36 million viewers in South Korea alone.
The film depicts the journey of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon), the hero who led the Trojan War to victory after a decade-long conflict, as he sets out to return to his wife Penelope (played by Anne Hathaway) and his son Telemachus (played by Tom Holland). This epic journey—marked by vast natural landscapes, endless voyages, large-scale battles, trials by the gods, and unimaginable hardships—majestically captures human will, destiny, and the meaning of homecoming.
Capturing the essence of Homer’s *The Odyssey*—considered the pinnacle of ancient Greek mythology—with overwhelming scale and narrative, the film is garnering attention as the most ambitious project in director Nolan’s filmography. The cast includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya Coleman, and Charlize Theron.
