Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 4th, “The film ‘The Intern’ has been confirmed for release on September 16.” Along with this announcement, they unveiled the first poster and trailer, heightening anticipation.
“The Intern” depicts office life that transcends both generations and job titles, beginning when “Ki-ho” (Choi Min-sik), a silver intern with 37 years of experience, joins the company of “Seon-woo” (Han So-hee), who has rapidly risen as a dark horse in the fashion industry just three years after launching her brand.
It is a remake of the 2015 film *The Intern*, starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. At the time, *The Intern* earned more than five times its production budget and was loved by audiences worldwide.
In the Korean version of *The Intern*, Korean cinema legend Choi Min-sik plays a veteran intern with 37 years of experience, lending the film a sense of credibility. Additionally, Han So-hee—a rising star known for her unique style and star power—transforms into a third-year rookie CEO who lives and breathes work, further piquing viewers’ curiosity.
On top of that, director Kim Do-young of *If We* takes the helm of *The Intern*, crafting a delightful K-office ensemble that resonates with Korean audiences.

The first poster released captures the eye with the confident strides of “Ki-ho,” the silver-haired intern, and “Seon-woo,” the passionate CEO, as they head to work side by side. “Ki-ho’s” smile, which exudes both his years of experience and the excitement of his first day on the job, combined with the confident expression of CEO “Seon-woo”—who turned the company into a dark horse in the fashion industry just three years after its founding—draws attention to the office life these two individuals, who differ in both generation and job title, will share. The tagline, “I’m starting work today,” promises to strike a chord with office workers.
The trailer, released alongside the teaser, begins with “Ki-ho,” who is heading to work for the first time in a long while, experiencing a mix of tension and excitement. During his interview with Deputy CEO “Young-hwan” (Kim Jun-han), when asked about his strengths and weaknesses, “Ki-ho” wittily replies, “My strength is that I have a lot of experience, and my weakness is that I’m also quite old.” He then receives his intern ID card for the fashion startup Utuutu.
Arriving at the office dressed in a sharp suit and carrying a briefcase, “Ki-ho” neatly arranges a cream bun, an “Olanda” cookie, a thermos, a desk clock, a pencil case, and even ink on his desk, immediately exuding the unique vibe of a “silver intern.”
Meanwhile, Ki-ho’s surprisingly serious expression as he searches for “how to work with Gen Z and Millennials” and the meaning of the new slang term “gamda-dwi” piques the audience’s curiosity about his humble life as the youngest intern—a veteran of the corporate world, yet starting anew as a “silver intern” at a new company.
