Yang Seung-soo, an analyst at Meritz Securities, stated in a report released today, “We expect SamsungElectronics’ pre-order sales for foldable devices to reach an all-time high this year,” adding, “We anticipate an upward revision in the annual foldable shipment forecast, centered on the Fold 8.”
He also cited the entry of North American smartphone manufacturers into the foldable market as a growth driver. Analyst Yang noted, “The entry of North American companies is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand the demand base for foldables beyond the Android ecosystem to include non-Android users and the tablet market.”
Fine M-Tec Co.,Ltd. was assessed as a company poised to benefit from the launch of new foldable products by both domestic and North American clients. For products destined for domestic clients, the analysis suggests that market share recovery and an increase in average selling prices are expected due to the expanded application of laser etching on metal plates. For products destined for North American clients, the analysis indicates a high likelihood of securing a significant market share based on initial yield rates.
Researcher Yang stated, “Starting in the second quarter, the upward trend in earnings driven by expanded shipments for foldable devices remains valid,” adding, “The high proportion of foldable device revenue and the potential to benefit from both domestic and North American clients are key premium factors.”
