[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] On the 4th, TBH GLOBAL(084870)announced that it will launch a new brand encompassing apparel, body care, and lifestyle products through a major licensing agreement with the British urban culture media brand “Time Out,” and will implement a “K-Cross-Border Licensing” model to simultaneously roll out products developed in Korea to multiple countries. (Photo: TBH GLOBAL) Time Out is a global urban culture curation media outlet that began in London in 1968. Its business operates on two main pillars: “Time Out Media,” which provides travel, dining, and cultural content, and “Time Out Market,” which operates multi-concept culinary and cultural spaces in major cities around the world. It is a global media brand specializing in city life, currently operating in 334 cities across 59 countries in 14 languages, with a monthly audience of approximately 242 million. Based on Time Out’s trademarks and brand IP, TBH GLOBAL plans to sequentially launch a product line spanning four major categories: clothing and apparel, accessories, cosmetics and body care, and lifestyle products. A key feature of this agreement is that it simultaneously secures multi-country operating rights for a total of 10 countries—including offline operations in four countries (South Korea, China, Singapore, and Taiwan) and online operations in eight countries (the UK, the U.S., Japan, Spain, Hong Kong, and Australia)—along with licenses for the four product lines. Unlike typical global licenses, which are segmented by country and category, this agreement is structured to enable comprehensive, multi-country, and multi-category business expansion. TBH GLOBAL will directly build and operate the “Time Out Shop” within the official Time Out website, securing a channel to directly expose and sell products to Time Out’s global audience of over 200 million monthly visitors. The plan is to simultaneously expand brand awareness as a global lifestyle brand and broaden sales touchpoints through the Shop menu, which will be permanently pinned to the top navigation bar of the site. As Time Out expands from media to markets and, ultimately, to lifestyle, the company plans to combine TBH GLOBAL’s product planning capabilities with its global production and distribution infrastructure to implement an expansion model similar to previous examples—such as Monocle—from a “K-Fashion” perspective. A TBH GLOBAL official explained, “At this optimal juncture where the spread of K-Culture meets our company’s global value chain management capabilities, it is highly meaningful to be jointly shaping Time Out’s third expansion—from media to market, and then to lifestyle.”
