The story of Season 33 begins on the upcoming episode of ENA and SBS Plus’s “I’m Single,” airing on the 5th. On the show, hosts Defconn, Lee Yi-kyung, and Song Hae-na express surprise at the appearance of men and women who have never dated—all boasting attractive looks and unexpected backstories—asking, “Why are they still single?” Notably, the average age of the male participants in Season 33 is 35, while the female participants average 33. Defconn enthusiastically cheers them on, saying, “They’re lifelong singles in their 30s—right at the prime age for marriage.”
In a pre-show interview, one single man confessed, “My total dating experience amounts to only about a month and a half,” adding, “I was more absorbed in studying math and foreign languages than in dating.” He continued, “Family and romantic relationships change, but math never does,” and revealed, “I thought of math as another kind of romantic partner. Next, another lifelong single woman mentions a relationship she had eight years ago that lasted about three months, explaining that she didn’t feel any romantic attraction toward her partner at the time, so they “parted ways amicably by mutual agreement.” Hearing this, the three hosts laugh, saying, “We’ve heard of divorce by mutual consent, but this is the first time we’ve heard of a breakup by mutual agreement.”
“I’m Single” is a hyper-realistic dating show where single men and women who desperately want to get married gather to struggle to find love. It’s garnering attention for having produced the most “real-life couples” and “married couples” among currently airing dating shows.
