[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] WeBiome, the health functional food subsidiary of KoBioLabs, Inc(348150), is launching a full-scale, customized B2B probiotic ingredient business based on patented bacterial strains and setting its sights on the global market.

WeBiome announced on the 5th that it is expanding its raw material business based on its world-class probiotics GMP facility located within the National Food Cluster. The facility has completed registration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has obtained FSSC22000, sGRAS, and Halal certifications, establishing a global supply system. Since its completion in 2023, the company has also completed process optimization and stability verification for over 30 types of functional strains.

The company plans to build a diverse product lineup—ranging from single strains to blended probiotic ingredients—to provide customized ingredients tailored to each client’s needs. In particular, it explained that it holds a large number of microbiome-derived strains secured based on the research achievements of Professor Ko Kwang-pyo of Seoul National University (currently Chief Scientific Officer at KoBioLabs, Inc.) and has secured the rights to these strains through domestic and international patents.

Currently, WeBiome supplies a variety of raw materials, including 4-strain and 13-strain probiotic blends, a 7-strain kids’ probiotic blend based on strains derived from infants and toddlers, and 4-strain BIFIDO. Co. Ltd-only probiotic blends. Clients can design customized probiotics by selecting the strain composition, daily intake, guaranteed bacterial count, and dosage form according to their product concept.

A WeBiome representative stated, “As the probiotics market becomes increasingly segmented, the importance of selecting strains and formulations that align with product objectives and consumer characteristics is growing,” adding, “Based on our patented strains and diverse lineup of complex formulations, we will provide ingredient solutions that enhance our clients’ product competitiveness.”

They added, “Through our participation in Vitafoods Asia 2026, we will actively promote WeBiome’s strain and ingredient lineup and propose ingredients that align with the product development directions of our overseas clients to expand our global B2B partnerships.”
