On the 5th, Inventera Inc. announced that it had been selected for the IP-R&D project organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Institute of Patent Strategy and Development. This marks the company’s third selection for the program, following selections in 2023 and 2024.
Previously, in 2023, the company conducted a global FTO (Freedom-to-Operate) analysis for Invinity-based nano-MRI contrast agents to assess the global commercialization potential of its platform technology and review its patent portfolio. In 2024, it solidified the foundation for securing intellectual property rights during the commercialization phase by establishing a patent strategy linked to domestic product approval.
This project will be conducted under the theme of “Strengthening Global IP Competitiveness and Establishing a Commercialization Strategy for New Drug Conjugates (ADCs) Based on the Polysaccharide Nanoparticle Platform.”
Through this initiative, Inventera Inc. plans to expand the scope of application of its core nanostructure platform, Infinity, from the existing diagnostic field to the therapeutic sector, and further strengthen its related foundational patents and subsequent IP portfolio.
Infinity is a platform technology designed to overcome the challenges of immune cell phagocytosis and nonspecific accumulation in the body—issues widely recognized as major hurdles in the development of nanomedicines. Based on this technology, Inventera Inc. has been pursuing the development of disease-specific nano-MRI contrast agents, and with this project, the company is now fully implementing its strategy to expand its diagnosis-focused pipeline into therapeutic nanomedicines.
In particular, this project focuses on strengthening the global IP competitiveness of the company’s therapeutic pipeline—including ADCs based on the Infinity platform. Through this initiative, the company intends to accelerate the advancement of its platform technology, which spans both diagnostics and therapeutics, as well as implement key patent defense strategies and secure new IP to facilitate future entry into global markets.
