[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] Hyundai pharm(004310)’s stock price is rising by more than 13% in early trading. This is believed to be driven by buying interest as expectations for the domestic launch of the abortion drug “Mifjin” continue, coupled with a focus on the company’s improving earnings.

According to MP Doctor on the 6th, as of 10:09 a.m., Hyundai pharm is trading at 6,650 won, up 13.68% (800 won) from the previous trading day.

Hyundai pharm is drawing attention as a beneficiary stock as the government’s discussions on introducing Mifjin have recently gained momentum. In 2021, Hyundai pharm signed a domestic licensing agreement with the UK-based Linepharma International for “Mifji-Miso,” a combination drug containing mifepristone and misoprostol, and has currently applied for product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, with the review process underway. The market continues to anticipate that Hyundai pharm could benefit if the decision to introduce Mifjin is finalized.

Improved financial performance is also bolstering investor sentiment. In its semi-annual report, Hyundai pharm announced first-half revenue of 102 billion won and operating profit of 3.5 billion won. Revenue increased by 11.5% year-over-year, operating profit rose by 427.5%, and the company returned to profitability. Analysts attribute the improved profitability to growth in the prescription drug (ETC) business, driven primarily by the dementia combination drug “DM Duo.”

Hyundai pharm offers over-the-counter (OTC) products such as “Beomulli” and the hair loss treatment “Minoxil,” and has recently been expanding its product portfolio to include CNS (central nervous system) therapies and treatments for metabolic disorders.
