According to the information and communications technology (ICT) industry on the 6th, LG Uplus recently completed the CSAP certification process for AlphaKey through the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). CSAP is a system established to provide public institutions with private cloud services that have been verified for safety and reliability.
AlphaKey is a cloud-based service that centrally manages corporate employees’ accounts, business systems, and access permissions for various SaaS applications. It supports single sign-on (SSO) to enhance work convenience while proactively responding to security threats, such as account hijacking, by detecting anomalous behavior in real time.
In particular, it has widened its security lead by adopting “homomorphic encryption” technology—which enables computations on encrypted data—and authentication technology based on “post-quantum cryptography (PQC)” designed to withstand quantum computing threats.
With recent revisions to the National Cybersecurity Guidelines strengthening mandatory account management and two-factor authentication requirements in the public sector, demand for IDaaS adoption is accelerating. LG Uplus is currently conducting free proof-of-concept (PoC) trials with select public institutions and plans to officially launch an alpha version dedicated to the public sector in the first quarter of next year, incorporating feedback from these trials.
Going forward, LG Uplus aims to transform itself into a “full-stack security” provider that extends beyond IDaaS to encompass network security and security operations management.
Park Seong-yul, Executive Vice President and Head of the Enterprise Business Innovation Group at LG Uplus, stated, “AlphaKey is a security SaaS solution developed in-house by a domestic telecommunications carrier, representing the culmination of LG Uplus’s accumulated security technologies and service internalization capabilities.” He added, “With the official recognition of AlphaKey’s security and reliability through this CSAP certification, we will strive to ensure that AlphaKey establishes itself as a trusted service in the public sector as well.”
