[Edaily Reporter KIM SAE-MI ] BioNote(377740)reported double-digit growth in first-half revenue and operating profit, driven by the expansion of its animal diagnostics business.
BioNote announced on the 6th that its consolidated operating profit was provisionally estimated at 14.8 billion won, a 34% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, revenue rose 13.3% to 68.9 billion won, while net income fell 43.1% to 50.4 billion won.
For the second quarter alone, the company posted revenue of 36.4 billion won and operating profit of 8.5 billion won. These figures represent increases of 12.2% and 33.2%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Compared to the previous quarter, revenue rose 11.7% and operating profit increased 33.3%, continuing the growth trend.
By business segment, the Animal Diagnostics Division led the improvement in performance. According to the company, cumulative sales of the “Vcheck F” fluorescent immunoassay analyzer approached 25,000 units, driven by expanding global demand. Major product lines, including rapid diagnostic kits for animals, the point-of-care (POC) product “Vcheck M,” the biochemical diagnostic device “Vcheck C,” and the hematology testing device “Vcheck H,” also grew.
The company explained that the Life Sciences Division also improved its profitability by focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
A BioNote official stated, “Going forward, we will diversify our portfolio by entering the automated chemiluminescent immunoassay (Auto CLIA) market and developing AI-based diagnostic platforms, while combining the independent business capabilities of our overseas subsidiaries with our global distribution network,” adding, “We will secure next-generation growth engines by entering the veterinary antibody therapeutics market.”
