On film sets, crews are proceeding with filming cautiously by following heatwave guidelines—keeping private ambulances on standby and taking breaks—while concert organizers are strengthening their heatwave response measures to ensure they are fully prepared for large-scale events.

"Indoor-Focused Filming with Air-Conditioning Equipment"

According to the broadcasting industry on the 6th, various broadcasters are proceeding with filming while adhering to heatwave production guidelines. According to SBS, the drama "Full Count," currently in the midst of filming, has a private ambulance on standby in case of emergencies and is proceeding with filming while taking approximately 20-minute breaks in between takes.
"Running Man," which is primarily filmed outdoors, is also securing both outdoor and indoor locations in advance to account for the weather, selecting the filming site based on the day’s conditions.
Although “Goal-Scoring Girls” is primarily filmed indoors, since it is a physically demanding program for the cast, medical staff are stationed on set, and cooling supplies such as cooling patches and sports drinks are provided during filming.
KBS is also adhering to internal guidelines, which stipulate: △ shortening outdoor work hours when the heat index reaches 33 degrees or higher; △ suspending outdoor work from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. when the heat index reaches 35 degrees or higher; and △ completely suspending outdoor work when the heat index reaches 38 degrees or higher.
CJ ENM is also implementing a heat-related illness prevention guide for content production during heat waves, based on guidelines from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Meteorological Administration, and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and is continuously providing guidance to ensure compliance at each production site. A CJ ENM spokesperson stated, “We are producing and broadcasting key safety guidelines as audiovisual content on the large electronic display on the exterior wall of our headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Following last year’s initiative, starting tomorrow (the 7th), we plan to display the ‘Five Basic Rules for Heatwave Safety’—developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency—as on-screen captions during tvN broadcasts.” CJ ENM is producing programs in accordance with guidelines that include: △Providing water, electrolyte drinks, and other beverages; installing temperature and humidity gauges; and setting up rest areas when the heat index reaches 31 degrees or higher; △Taking breaks of at least 20 minutes every two hours and wearing personal cooling gear when the temperature reaches 33 degrees or higher; and △Suspending outdoor filming and production when the temperature reaches 35 degrees or higher.
A drama staff member explained, “With the record-breaking heatwave continuing, it’s difficult to conduct outdoor filming,” adding, “We’re prioritizing indoor filming first. We plan to proceed with outdoor filming once the heatwave subsides.”

"Performances to Proceed as Scheduled… Heatwave Countermeasures Strengthened"

Large-scale performances are scheduled for the weekend. While each concert will proceed as planned, organizers are implementing measures to address the heatwave. PSY’s “Soak Show”—a concert concept where audiences enjoy the performance while getting drenched—saw four audience members transported to the hospital with symptoms of heat-related illness during last July’s Gwangju performance. Consequently, organizers plan to have medical staff, ambulances, and police and fire department personnel on standby at all times to prepare for emergencies. They will also operate a rest area for emergency patients and a first-aid station.
The organizers of “Waterbomb Busan 2026,” taking place at Lotte World Adventure Busan, are also preparing to ensure attendees can enjoy the show while getting adequate rest. Although the festival utilizes water cannons—similar to “Soak Show”—it differs from a single-artist concert in that it runs for 8 to 9 hours. The organizer, Madeon, stated, “We will establish a system capable of responding immediately to emergencies such as heat-related illnesses.”
The Big Bang solo concert, set to take place at the Main Stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex from the 21st to the 23rd, is also expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees per show, so organizers are making every effort to prepare for the heatwave. YG Entertainment stated, “We plan to operate rest areas where fans can take a break and deploy additional service booths and staff to minimize waiting times.”
