[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] YG Entertainment (YG) announced on the 6th that the cumulative number of views for its artists’ performance videos on YouTube has surpassed 7 billion.

YG has released a total of 69 performance videos to date. YG explained, “We have devoted considerable effort to producing performance videos since the early days of BLACKPINK’s career, which began in 2016, and have focused on highlighting the unique charm and strengths of the choreography itself—elements that are difficult to fully capture in music videos.”
YG’s Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk personally oversaw the production of all performance videos, from planning and choreography to final editing. Chief Producer Yang, who previously worked as a professional dancer, debuted in 1992 as a member of Seo Taiji and Boys and enjoyed phenomenal popularity. According to YG, Chief Producer Yang personally created all the choreography for the songs included in Seo Taiji and Boys’ first through fourth albums.
The choreography for Big Bang’s “Lie” and “Last Farewell,” as well as 2NE1’s “Fire,” are also his creations. Recently, he has been working by commissioning choreography from renowned international choreographers and then selecting, editing, and refining their work, while overseeing the entire production process of the performance videos based on this approach.
YG stated, “We will continue to constantly reflect and evolve to ensure that not only the music and performances of TREASURE and BABYMONSTER but also those of future rookie artists are realized as high-quality content.”
