[Edaily Reporter Choi Oh-hyun ] LG Corp. Chairman Koo Kwang-mo is set to meet with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in Silicon Valley, U.S., next week. This comes about two months after their meeting in Seoul last June. As the two sides have been holding working-level discussions since then, attention is focused on whether cooperation plans in the areas of physical artificial intelligence (AI), smart factories, and AI data centers will become more concrete.

According to industry sources on the 6th, Chairman Koo is scheduled to visit NVIDIA’s headquarters in California next week to meet with CEO Huang. This will be Chairman Koo’s first visit to Silicon Valley in about four months since last April. It will also mark their first meeting in two months.

The two executives held an official meeting on June 8 at the LG Corp. Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, and agreed to expand the scope of their cooperation to encompass future industries such as robotics, AI infrastructure, and autonomous driving. Chairman Koo stated that CEO Huang had invited him to visit the U.S. immediately after the meeting and expressed his intention to discuss further collaboration plans.

Since then, LG Corp. and NVIDIA have continued follow-up discussions at both the executive and working-level. On the 22nd of the same month, approximately 30 executives and R&D personnel from major affiliates—including Ryu Jae-cheol, President of LGELECTRONICS(066570); Hyun Shin-kyun, President of LG Corp.(003550) CNS; and Jeong Su-heon, CEO of LG Science Park—visited NVIDIA’s headquarters.

Following the visit, President Ryu stated, “Through further discussions in the U.S., LGELECTRONICS and NVIDIA have solidified the specific areas of collaboration (regarding Physical AI) and their strategic partnership.” He added that the two companies are currently discussing plans to build a Physical AI ecosystem, including the establishment of the LG Data Factory, the advancement of cooling solutions for LGELECTRONICS’ AI data centers, and the creation of synergies based on the establishment of a mass production system for LG robots.

The business community expects the two companies to discuss more specific details regarding the scope and timeline of their collaboration during this meeting.
