[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Revenue from Naver’s (NAVER(035420)) global ventures has surpassed 1 trillion won for the first time. With global consumer-to-consumer (C2C) platforms such as Poshmark, Soda, and WallaPop growing in tandem, C2C is establishing itself not merely as a side business but as a key pillar of Naver’s performance.

Kim Hee-cheol, Naver’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), announced during the Q2 2026 earnings call on the 7th, “Revenue from the Global Growth segment in the second quarter reached 1.0159 trillion won, a 24.4% increase year-over-year.” This marks the first time revenue from the Global Growth segment has exceeded 1 trillion won since Naver adopted its new revenue classification system this year.

C2C was the primary driver of this growth. CFO Kim explained, “In the C2C segment, efforts to strengthen the platform’s core competitiveness yielded results, leading to a 74.9% year-over-year increase in revenue.”

Poshmark saw the benefits of improvements in the quality of its AI-based search and recommendations. CFO Kim said, “Poshmark recorded revenue growth of over 40% year-over-year in the second quarter as a result of significantly improved purchase conversion rates and purchase frequency driven by enhancements in the quality of its AI-based search and recommendations.”

Soda, a Japanese C2C platform, expanded its growth momentum by riding the wave of a boom in trading card transactions. CFO Kim explained, “Soda saw both revenue and transaction volume more than double year-over-year as the boom in trading card transactions continued.”

WallaPop, a Spain-based secondhand marketplace, also continued to drive transaction activity amid the growth of the European C2C market. CFO Kim said, “In line with the growth of the European C2C market, WallaPop is sustaining transaction volume growth that exceeds the growth rate of the Spanish retail market through efforts such as launching local delivery services and personalizing the app’s feed to boost platform activity.” He added, “We are strengthening our platform dominance, particularly in the used car category, where we hold the top market share based on listed items.”

Meanwhile, Naver posted its highest-ever quarterly revenue, recording 3.3888 trillion won in the second quarter—a 16.2% increase from the same period last year. However, operating profit fell 0.2% year-over-year to 520.3 billion won due to investments in AI infrastructure.
