[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] WOT.CO.,LTD.(396470), a manufacturer of semiconductor environmental control equipment, saw significant improvements in both revenue and profitability in the first half of this year, driven by expanding global semiconductor investment.
WOT.CO.,LTD. announced on the 7th that its consolidated revenue for the first half of this year reached 12 billion won, a 75.6% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit rose 203.3% to 3 billion won, and net income increased 105.1% to 3 billion won. For the second quarter alone, revenue reached 7.7 billion won, a 78.0% increase from the previous quarter. Operating profit rose 117.4% to 2.1 billion won, and net income increased 80.6% to 1.9 billion won.
The company explained that the improvement in performance was driven by an increase in securing clients and product supply starting in the second half of last year, as global semiconductor companies expanded their investments in response to rising demand for semiconductors driven by the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and autonomous vehicles.
Reduced fixed costs resulting from higher production facility utilization rates and ongoing cost-reduction efforts also contributed to improved profitability. The company expects to maintain its growth momentum, as it has already secured supply volumes for the second half of the year.
WOT.CO.,LTD. is also pursuing expansion into overseas markets. Since last year, the company has been conducting performance evaluations of precision temperature and humidity control (THC) devices for semiconductor companies in Taiwan and Southeast Asia in collaboration with a local Taiwanese firm.
The company stated that it has completed the performance evaluations requested by clients and is currently undergoing the conformity verification process for mass production, and expects to see tangible results soon.
A WOT.CO.,LTD. official stated, “Along with the expansion of medium- to long-term investments by global semiconductor companies, orders from materials, parts, and equipment suppliers are also continuing,” adding, “We expect to maintain a stable growth trend in earnings in line with our customers’ investment plans.”
