The show is drawing attention because the rappers, who once engaged in fierce rap battles on stage, are set to transform into reality dating show contestants and showcase a whole new side of themselves.

'Rapper Seeks Girlfriend' depicts the romance between male rappers from 'Show Me the Money 12' and female non-celebrity participants appearing as 'muses.' The show is planned as a six-episode series, with three dates split into two episodes each. A total of three “Muse” contestants were selected through an open call, with one appearing per date. The five male rappers participating in the first date are Royal44, Jung Jun-hyuk, Noh Yoon-ha, Double Down, and Vice Balsa.
The show is directed by Chief Producer Choi Hyo-jin, who led the production of “Show Me the Money 12” and “The World of Yacha,” a spin-off based on the “Underground Battlefield” concept. Chief Producer Choi told Edaily, “Through ‘Show Me the Money 12,’ we saw the diverse interest and reactions viewers had toward the rappers, and as an extension of that, we decided to plan a spin-off that would showcase their new charms offstage.”
Previously, the production team revealed the existence of the “Call-Out Date” rule—where “Muses” can swap out, eliminate, or add rappers during a date—through a teaser released ahead of the premiere. Producer Choi emphasized, “Since this is a spin-off of the ‘Show Me the Money’ series, we’ve infused the entire program with fast-paced yet intense dating rules that capture the series’ unique character.”
The performances of the “Muses”—female non-celebrity cast members—are also drawing attention. Regarding the three “Muses” selected from a field of 1,000 applicants, Producer Choi noted, “They each possess distinct charms and personalities,” adding, “We expect them to showcase diverse chemistry through their dates with the rappers.” He added, “Please look forward to the honest and fresh sides the rappers will reveal as they meet each of the ‘Muses.’”

This marks the first time the “Show Me the Money” series has incorporated a dating reality format.
With competition intensifying as a succession of dating reality shows featuring diverse themes have emerged, attention is focused on how this new attempt—which puts the rappers’ daily lives and romantic relationships front and center—will be received.
Producer Choi said, “Viewers will be able to experience not only the rappers’ unique, candid, and free-spirited charm but also a side of them that’s different from the intense personas they usually display on stage,” expressing his hopes for the show.
