In terms of overall advance ticket sales, it trails “Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” drawing significant audience interest ahead of its release. “Okay Madam 2” is a comedy-action film that follows Mi-young, a former legendary agent, and her family as they embark on a luxury cruise only to become entangled in a cruise ship hijacking incident in the middle of the ocean. Returning from the first film are Um Jung-hwa and Park Sung-woong, while Lee Sang-yoon, Bae Jeong-nam, Park Jin-ju, Ryu Woon, and Choi Soo-young have joined the cast. In particular, the action chemistry between Um Jung-hwa and Choi Soo-young, along with the comedic action set against the backdrop of the cruise ship, are highlighted as key attractions. The fact that this is a sequel returning after a six-year hiatus also draws attention. The first film, *Okay Madam*, released in 2020, reached audiences at a time when the theater industry was struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, it has seen steady consumption in the secondary rights market, such as VOD, surpassing its break-even point, which paved the way for the production of this sequel. All eyes are on whether “Okay Madam 2” can continue the box office momentum of Korean films in the summer theater market, where Hollywood blockbusters like “Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” are dominating. The film opens on August 12.
