This achievement marks the third time Iron Device Corp. has reached the 100-million-unit shipment milestone for its flagship smart power amplifier product line. As of the first quarter, Iron Device Corp.’s cumulative shipments of smart power amplifiers had already exceeded 300 million units. The company explained that this result stems from its proven high technical reliability, achieved by continuously supplying customized semiconductors optimized for global customers based on its accumulated semiconductor design capabilities and know-how.
The ‘SMA1305’ is a smart power amplifier used in smartphones and tablets from global customers. It simultaneously delivers high sound pressure, excellent sound quality, and improved power efficiency. By applying the world’s first proprietary predictive control-based speaker protection algorithm, it ensures superior performance and high reliability compared to competing products. Envelope tracking technology, low-noise and low-power analog design, and audio signal processing technology are integrated into a single chip, maximizing the efficiency of the entire system.
Based on its expertise in mixed-signal semiconductor design and process technology—which integrates analog, digital, and power technologies onto a single chip—Iron Device Corp. is actively expanding into the on-device AI market. As audio ICs have recently evolved beyond simple audio input and output to serve as AI sensors that understand the surrounding environment, the company is defining audio as a core AI interface for interacting with the physical environment and is accelerating the development of related technologies.
