[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] ABION Inc.(203400)’s stock price surged to the daily price limit early in the trading session. According to MP Doctor on the 10th, as of 9:12 a.m., ABION Inc.’s stock is trading at 841 won—the daily price limit—up 29.98% from the previous trading day.
Earlier that day, the company issued a press release explaining, “This patent pertains to a recombinant protein created by fusing an interferon-beta mutant (IFN-β Mutein), independently developed by ABION Inc., with an antibody that targets cancer cells.” It is a foundational patent that comprehensively protects the core structure of the iRAC™ platform.
iRAC™ is a platform technology that uses tumor-targeting antibodies to selectively deliver interferon-beta to the tumor microenvironment (TME). It is designed to induce superior therapeutic persistence and immune activation compared to existing antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies, thereby achieving enhanced antitumor effects.
The company emphasized that this U.S. patent registration is a significant milestone that enhances the commercial value of the entire platform, extending beyond individual pipeline candidates. ABION Inc. official stated, “This U.S. patent is highly significant in that it protects the core foundational technology of the iRAC™ platform, rather than a specific candidate compound,” adding, “By securing the platform’s scalability and exclusive rights, we have laid the groundwork to more actively pursue global commercialization and technology transfer strategies.”
